Whole wheat Apple Galette / Пълнозърнест ябълков галет


Hi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend! For me it was a strange one because it was my first real weekend in quite some time. Till now I wasn't working and basically there was no difference which day it is, but since last Wednesday I've started a full time job and some changes have to be made. It will take some time to adjust but I hope everything will work for the best.
My only fear is that I won't have enough time for my blog, but I'm sure I'll figure it all out. May be I won't be posting as often as I used to do, but I'll do my best to continue what I've started here. 
Today's recipe is especially for all of you who don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen but love having a warm and tasty piece of pie. Usually, baking a pie from scratch takes some time...but not this one.
Since the pie crust is made with vegetable oil there is no need to refrigerate the dough before rolling it out.
You just mix all the ingredients, roll the dough, fill with spiced apples and bake. Fast and easy!


Another good thing about this galette is the fact that it's healthier and is perfect even for vegans. So, we have fast, easy, healthy and no need to say delicious sweet treat. Oh, and your house will smell amazing for two days! :)

Здравейте, надявам се, че сте изкарали едни много приятни почивни дни! За мен бяха малко странни, тъй като бяха първите ми истински почивни дни от едно известно време насам. Понеже до сега не работех, за мен реално нямаше значение кой ден от седмицата е, но това е на път да бъде тотално променено, защото от миналата сряда започнах работа на пълен работен ден и промените са наложителни. Неминуемо ще ми отнеме едно известно време да се нагодя към новите условия, но съм сигурна, че всичко ще се подреди.
Като цяло съм доста приятно развълнувана и единствените ми страхове са, че няма да ми остава достатъчно време за блога. Публикациите ми сигурно ще се поразредят, но се надявам все пак да продължа това, което съм започнала тук.
Днешната рецепта е специално за тези от вас, които нямат много свободно време, а обичат да се подслаждат с топъл и ароматен пай. Приготвянето на класически пай не трудно, но отнема време...не и този. За направата на кората на днешният галет се използва олио, а не масло, което  спестява момента с изчакването на тестото да се охлади в хладилника преди да бъде разточено.
Всички продукти се смесват, тестото се разточва, пълни се с ароматно подправени ябълки и се пече. Бързо и лесно!



Другото хубаво на този галет е, че е доста по - здравословен и подходящ дори за стриктни вегани. Не е нужно да казвам, че освен бърз, лесен и здравословен, този десерт е изключително вкусен! Плюс - в къщата ви ще ухае приятно поне два дена!

Zucchini Cream Soup and Beautiful Fall Colors / Крем - супа от тивички и красивите цветове на есента


A cup of warm homemade soup is always appreciated this time of year. My first soup for this Fall was a rich and creamy zucchini soup with coconut milk. Not only it is easy to prepare but it contains just a touch of fats contrary to the old fashioned cream soups made with lots of cream and butter, as well as flour or corn starch used as thickening agents. At home we are trying to avoid all these not so healthy ingredients without compromising the taste of what we eat. So, let's see how we do it:

Cars Themed Birthday Cake / Торта Колите


Hi Everyone! I'm just passing by to share with you what I've made for my nephew Peter's Birthday. Second year in a row he wanted Cars themed cake and everything. I was hoping that the Cars period is over and may be this year I will have the possibility to try some of the ideas I've been collecting on Pinterest for boy's birthday party but the kid has a different vision. Luckily, McQueen wasn't the main character this time, instead my nephew wanted Strip "The King" Weathers. Even if I was a little tired of all the Cars stuff it was a real pleasure for me to make Peter happy. He is a very bright and charming boy, my first nephew, not to mention that I'm his godmother, I love him so much and I'll do everything to make him happy!


I also made some banana flavored cake pops covered with poured fondant, crazy ingredient brownies in the role of traffic light and wholewheat baked banana tires ( donuts ).


I took a risk and baked the cake base with whole wheat flour and brown sugar. From what I've read on the internet I was expecting some kind of disaster but it worked perfectly.The cake was made of 6 layers ( basic white cake and chocolate cake, three of each) with Chocolate cream filling between the layers, crumb coated with chocolate ganache and covered with marshmallow fondant.
Well, I can see tons of imperfections but what matters most is that the birthday boy was more than happy with the result which makes my mission successful! 



Здравейте, приятели! Наминавам само да ви покажа какво приготвих за рождения ден на моя племенник Петър. За втора поредна година младежа си пожела торта с герой от филма Колите. Тайничко се надявах, че този период е отминал и ще мога да осъществя някоя нова идея от тези, които си събирам в Pinterest, но детето имаше друг план. За щастие, главен герой този път не беше Маккуин Светкавицата, а друг участник от прословутото филмче, а именно Strip "The King" Weathers. Макар и доста отегчена от въпросният филм, направих тортата и всичко останало с голямо желание и удоволствие, защото знаех, че това ще направи Петьо много щастлив...в крайна сметка това е най - важното в случая. 
Петър е прекрасно и изключително чаровно дете, първият ми племенник, както и мой първи кръщелник, толкова много си го обичам и бих направила всичко, което пожелае за да го направя щастлив!



При правенето на тортата поех известен риск, като приготвих пандишпановите  блатове с пълнозърнесто брашно и кафява захар. От всичко, което изчетох в интернет бях в очакване на тотална катастрофа, но блатовете се получиха перфектно. Цялата торта се състои от шест реда, три бели и три какаови. Между блатовете сложих шоколадов млечен крем, леко замазах цялата торта с ганаш и покрих с фондан от маршмелоуз.
Тортата съвсем не е съвършена и има доста дефекти, но пък детето беше толкова доволно, че спокойно мога да определя задачата си като успешно изпълнена!



Ето и останалите неща, които приготвих: бананови кейк попс с покритие от течен фондан, браунис с тайна съставка в ролята на светофари и едни печени бананови пълнозърнести гуми

Oven Baked Buckwheat Burgers / Печени кюфтенца от елда


I haven't shared a non dessert recipe in a long time. Well, I hope you don't think we eat only cakes, pies and cookies. When pastry making is your hobby keeping the rest of your diet healthy is not just necessary, it is a must and this is exactly what we are doing at home.  We love experimenting with new to our kitchen ingredients which are not only beneficial for the health, but also taste great. Buckwheat is my latest discovery. I heard about this wheat-like seeds 7-8 years ago when I was studying french and one of my classmates was a Russian girl.  We were all newly arrived in Canada and everyone was looking for specific products and ingredients, traditional for the countries that we came from. So, that girl was very sad that there is no buckwheat in Canada, and she was so desperately trying to find it. It turned out that there is plenty of buckwheat and it is very easy to find it if you ask for it in English or French! :) Problem was solved and the whole drama around the "missing buckwheat" made me wonder what make these seeds so special. I started searching for more info on the internet, but if you remember internet wasn't the same 7 years ago, so the only information I've found was that it is good for your health, but it smells bad when you cook it. The smell thing cooled down my enthusiasm and I decided to leave buckwheat for those who are used to it.
Well, it was a mistake, but like people say " better late, than never"! Recently I was having coffee with a friend and we were discussing recipes when she said, she made buckwheat pancakes. I asked her about the smell and she said that there is no such thing. She was very convincing and the first thing I did the day after was to buy a small pack of buckwheat. Am I happy about it - definitely yes! I know taste and smell are individual but I'm well know for my sensitive nose and there was nothing wrong with the smell. 
These burgers were the first thing I made with buckwheat and I was more than happy with the final result. I also used it for a salad which turned out great too. Next time when I make it, I will take pictures and will share the recipe with you.
